Finding and adding friends
You can search for friends and add them to your friends list in a number of ways. The most common ways of doing so are described below. Once you create an account, the very welcome page will prompt you to find for friends. You should go ahead and use this feature to look for friends right away. If for some reason, you skip this step at the time of account creation, you can always return to the well organized Friends menu bar and find the right links easily.
Finding friends from your yahoo, hotmail, gmail, AOL or MSN personal address books
Go ahead and click the “Find Friends” menu item in the Friends pull down menu (shown on the previous page). You will see the following screen (see image below).

If you have a yahoo, gmail, hotmail, AOL or MSN email account where you store your friends’ contact information in the address book, you will be able to specify your email address right here, along with the password you use to log into that email. Facebook will search all registered users and check whether any of the friends listed in your address book have signed up for Facebook. Once the search is complete, you can add the friends to your Facebook friends list, and never worry about keeping in touch with them again.
